Vejer de la Frontera is a
typical Andalucian Pueblo Blanco perched on
a 200m rock outcrop - just off the main
N340 road between Cádiz and
Gibraltar ( see the location map on the
home page).
It has an enchanting character - as though
time has stood still for this beautiful
ancient town.

Voted the 'prettiest town in
Spain', is now designated as a National
Monument of Historic and Artistic interest
by the government |

ð |
Real working town of about 13,000
- but only 12 km from the nearest natural
Atlantic beach |

ð |
Sights to see: Ancient
church, Castle, Town Wall, Moorish Arches,
narrow cobbled streets |

Plaza España
(picture

surrounded by Orange and Palm
trees. Pretty bars and restaurants with tables
on the pavements ... at its centre, a large
ornate fountain over 100 years old. |
|
ð |
The local people are friendly and
helpful. Typical local and craft shops ... and
excellent tapas bars. |
|
ð |
Don't forget your camera. There's
a 'postcard' view around every corner. |

Vejer is atmospheric and very
tranquil. Ideal for a well earned rest from
your busy, stressful life. Just
relax! |
